Every birth is a miracle. Every woman wants the best possible team with her at this special time. While doctors and nurses are present to attend to the medical aspects of childbirth, a doula assists the mother during the birth experience. Obstetricians and delivery nurses may have several patients at one time - the doula is there just for you, from the beginning of labor to the birth of your baby.
The word "doula" comes from the Greek, meaning servant or assistant. That's the role the birth doula plays, to assist the mother during the birth process. Every woman should have a safe, satisfying childbirth. A doula is her comforter and advisor.
My passion for the importance of doulas led me to change careers, so I can help support women through their labor and birth journeys. My goal is to attend to your emotional and physical needs during your baby's transition from womb to world.
"A doula attended the births of my children and it made all the difference in my birth experience." I have been working as a birth doula in Central New Jersey since 2005 and was certified by DONA International in February 2007.
